Recent update

Ava has finally come home but I'm about two weeks late on telling all of you. I'm NOT a blogger by any means but I do enjoy looking back at her progress so this is better then writing in a diary.. I suppose? Anyways, enough about me back to Miss Ava! :)

Ava came home on the night of April 27 and she did very well! The travel was pretty easy on her and she fit right in with everyone else! Basically no news other than her coming home.

What she has learned since I last blogged-
Picking up all feet
Measuring
Weighing
Checking tempture
Blanketing
Grooming
How to eat grass
How to eat grain
How to drink water (properly)
How to jump ditches in the paddock
How to follow the leader
How to NOT follow Mommy
How to dig holes
How to play with buckets
How to scare her Mommy
How to play with puppies
How to make her Mommy attack puppies
How to nicker every time she sees you
and most of all how to buck and rear on mommy! (poor Paris)

haha, Ava is such a good girl!

Ava at eight days.

I heard great news today from Kim Geczi. She said that she used to be paid to go to Europe to go and find dressage/show jumping weanling prospects and she thought that Ava already has that 'spark'. She says Ava is very smart, has great movement and pretty much has springs in her legs! She said that Ava is an incredible filly.. I'm in shock and SO ecstatic. xD

Honor came to see Ava!

Ava and Paris were out in the pasture when we arrived at Destiny Stables. Honor, my crazy friend that I love, was there with me and my Mum, Helen. Ava didn't want to be caught and so after like ten minutes we gave up and started taking fantastic photos! Doug came out and finally caught Ava.. Here are some of her glamour photos. :)

Ava at five days.

Ava experienced her first day outside yesterday and Kim told me that she did great, and loved every minute of it. Paris was very happy to be outside, also, and Ava and her were running around the field like the crazies they are. Ava has great suspension and a high buck to die for. Which means that she will most likely be a good jumper. :) Here are some photos of Ava and Paris.

Taylor Jean - Ava's half sister

Taylor Jean was born this morning (the 14th) at around 2.30 am to Kit Kat and On Line. Isn't she precious?

Taylor Jean is owned by Roger Van Doorene from vandorenshowjumping.com. If you need any horse training I highly recommend going to him.

April, 11th, 2009 - a new life is born

Ava Marie aka Online Princess
Paris started labor at 1:30 and finally gave birth at 3:45am. She had a horrible labor and she eventually gave up pushing the baby out. Kim and Doug Geczi from Destiny Stables successfully pulled Ava out. I am so blessed that both of them survived because this morning another mare from the same foaling barn birthed a dead colt. I don't know what I would've done if Ava, or Paris, had died. So I am thankful that they both survived this whole ordeal.

Remember to give your animal an extra minute everyday because you never know when that minute could be your last.

It all starts with an idea.

Most of you know that I have a horse named Paris but many of you know nothing about her. She is a 16h Appendix quarter horse out of a quarter horse mare Flashy Addition and by a gorgeous stallion named Pipe peddler.

Pipe Peddler is a 1984 Dk Bay TB stallion who stands 17 hands. He was a winner on the race track of over $25,000, having raced at such notable tracks as Keeneland and Churchill Downs. Pipe's size , movement and outstanding disposition are qualities he consistently passes on to his foals. Which he did. Paris successfully carried me all the way to Level 3 AA rated shows. We won many ribbons and she taught me so much in the five years that I have owned her. I'd say she is pretty special to me and I love her to bits.

After a series of injuries I realized Paris may not be able to take me where I wanted or needed to go with my riding so I thought about breeding her. Sure, I had a lot of pros and cons, and I thought it could be a bad idea. Once Paris stretched one of the major tendons in her leg I decided it was time to breed her.

After a lot of thought and prayer I picked, with help, a stallion that I thought would be a good match for Paris. His name is On Line and he is absolutely gorgeous. ( see the photo above ) I had watched him at a local Grand Prix in 2007 and I knew I had to find out more about the horse. I couldn't draw my eyes off of him. Once I did more research into his bloodlines I found that his father was the famous Concorde and he had Furioso, and many other famous stallions, in his blood. He is an amazing creature.

In early 2008 I bred Paris to On Line making her pregnant with Ava and now her journey begins...
